SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The SDGs are a universal United Nations call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives and prospects of people around the world.

In 2015, the Member States of the United Nations approved 17 Goals, broken down into 169 specific goals, as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which establishes a plan to achieve the Goals in 15 years with goals to protect the planet and guarantee the good of all people. (United Nations, 2021)

The Sustainable Development Goals and their targets are integrated and indivisible, global in scope and universally applicable, taking into account the different realities, capacities and levels of development of each country and respecting their national policies and priorities.

These objectives are interrelated and often the key to the success of one will involve the issues most frequently linked to another.
